Return and Exchange Policy
*All English translations are provided for reference purposes only. In any event, the Japanese version shall prevail.
*Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. is hereinafter referred to as “we,” “us” and “our.”
Returns and Exchanges
Returns and exchanges of products purchased from our online shop are handled differently depending on the nature of the request, i.e., if it is per customer request or preference, or if the item(s) fails/breaks shortly after delivery or suffered a mishap during shipping.
Per Customer Request
- Customer desires the delivered product in a different size or color
- Any other cases based on customer preferences
Early Item Failures/Breaks, Defects and/or Shipping Mishaps
- If the item fails/breaks shortly after delivery or has an operational defect, damage, etc.
- If the item suffers damage during shipping
- If the item delivered differs from the item ordered
Shared Conditions
- The item must be returned to the address below within eight days of being received, and prior notification must be made by telephone, e-mail or the contact form. Please open and confirm received items as soon as possible.
- For confirmation purposes, when returning any items, please keep the original shipping receipt until the item has been successfully delivered to us and the exchange process has concluded.
- Include in the return package all additional parts/accessories, instruction manuals, etc., that were originally sent to you.
- Exchanges will not be accepted if items have been lost, if product tags have been cut or lost, or if there is damage to the item packaging.
- For mishaps, defects and other issues with items purchased from our online shop, we cannot take actions other than those listed below for returned packages and exchanges, except when certain items have been specifically designated as exceptions.
In Cases of Customer Request
- We will accept exchanges for the same item (in a different size, color, etc.) only, and will not provide refunds.
- Item exchanges are only available for customers residing in Japan.
- Items must be unused.
- The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping and we will not accept packages sent with cash-on-delivery payment.
In Cases of Early Failures/Breaks, Defects and/or Shipping Mishaps
- In general, we only accept exchanges for the same item. However, should a cancelation of the purchase contract in accordance with the Consumer Contract Act be granted and the customer requests a return and refund instead, we will comply accordingly.
- In case of an early item failure or break, we will inspect the returned item before moving forward with the process.
- In case of a shipping mishap, we will exchange the original item ordered with another.
- We will cover shipping costs, so please mark the return package for cash-on-delivery.
